Let me know if any BSOD occurs, don't forget the BSOD Posting Instructions :)
No worries.
I leave the startups disabled?
No worries.
Just to let you know, I will not be at my PC after Thursday for a few days. Easter break :).
axe0, other than the programs that run at start up that are listed in msconfig, there are others that start with Windows;
MSI afterburner
Samsung magician
Nvidia Geforce Experience
MalwareBytesAntiMalware
Coretemp
Should I also stop these from starting with Windows?
Just had a blue screen a few minutes after boot. Was only browsing.
MBAM is fine, it is protection software which should start at boot.
The others should be disabled.
Just got back last night from visiting family, started the PC this morning and got another BSoD.
Was probably on for about 5 minutes, browser open and I was just having a quick hand of 'Hearts' to wake me up :).
Have just taken a look and it seems that not all the startups were disabled though.
GeForce experience, Samsung magician, RivaTuner were running.
Cannot see where to disable Samsung Magician from startup though.
Diagnostics Test
Clean boot
Please try the following:
- Search msconfig and open it
- Go to the tab services
- Check 'hide microsoft services'
- Uncheck all other services
- Go to the tab startup
- Disable everything
- Click apply and click ok
- Reboot if asked
See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.
If the problem still persist, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem still persist
No problem, take the time you need :)
A small question, do you have any peripheral connected when you boot besides of mouse and keyboard?
If you do, it may cause problems with the drivers or the USB connection and if that is the case a clean boot may not help and sometimes safe mode won't help either.
