Ran verifier again with ALL selected, an 0A and two F4s. Got it to where I could put it sleep this time, so maybe this will tell us something. Tried the "startup repair option" again and it didn't have a solution. Dumps attached.

I can't recall if you've reinstalled Windows yet.
If not, please do. This will help to verify that the error isn't from Windows - but from hardware.
When you install Windows, wipe the hard drive clean and install it with updates. Then check Device Manager to ensure all devices are recognized. Then install Windows Updates and an antivirus. Then wait to see if you get any BSOD's.
I suspect your graphics card due to the dxgkrnl.sys error in one of the dump files. Do you have another one that you can test with?
Don't forget to turn Driver Verifier off.

This is a vanilla install on a new WD HDD as per MS's request. No programs, only Internet and antivirus. Installed on the 3rd of Jan. with just Windows updates.
My NVidia graphics are on board so I can't swap them without changing mobos. I could update to the latest drivers, but that hadn't helped in the past.
All current hardware is working, and recognized in Device Manager.
Keep me posted on any ideas

Can you disable the onboard graphics and try an add-on card to see if that helps?
This is almost certainly a hardware problem, so it's going to take some time to replace pieces bit-by-bit to see if we can locate what's causing the problem.
Even a cheap video card is around $35 and I'm not sure the stock 250w power supply would be suffficient. A new board ( Asus ) around $65 and no promises either one will solve the problem or explain why everything worked before in Vista. That's what I get for having a pos, off the shelf computer! Good thing it's just a backup for doing research.
Would the driver update from NVidia ( 15.49 or 15.51 ) be of any help?

I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but check your BIOS to see if you have an option for PME Event (in Power Management). If it's Enabled, Disable it.

No PME setting or suspend setting ( S1, S3 ) in my BIOS. Only restore AC power and execute disable, like I said BASIC.

Try the new driver - but I doubt it would help.

Tried to find an old video card, the one in my other comp wouldn't fit with the double wide mounting flange, so ended up buying a new one. Installed ok with WDDM driver, haven't tried to update with ATI drivers yet.
This, however, did not fix the problem, and caused a couple more. Now instead of just blue screens, the system will restart on wake up or freeze for about five mins. Also the DVD drive will disappear from "my computer" and won't work until a restart. So i'm back to where I started two months ago.

Somethings busted. The new video card shouldn't cause those symptoms.
I'd suspect the motherboard - but that's just a guess.
Start ripping parts out to see if you can isolate which part it is.
