Windows 7: Running programs seem to close by themselves at night

Running programs seem to close by themselves at night

Well, my system has been apparently restarting itself late at night after a period of inactivity...never when I am actively using it.... because I sat down to the computer this morning and Illustrator and Photoshop and my email program were all closed - just windows was up and running.

I had "unchecked" the "automatically restart" box as is usually suggested, hoping it would show the bsod or dump file.... but my computer still did not show the BSOD on screen like I assumed it would. It just apparently restarts.... no problems shown in/under the Action Center Flag in my system tray.....Any suggestions??? Thanks....

I will mention that my Asus motherboard has all 6 memory slots filled with 2 gb memory sticks each for 12 gb memory. I've heard that filling all memory slots to motherboard capacity can be troublesome???

Edit: By the way... I checked for a Mini Dump file under "Windows" and I don't have any listed as of yesterday or today?????

What to do??

Hey. Well, straight off the bat, the OCZ ram stands out to me. OCZ typically needs manual adjustment of the vdimm and timings inside the bios settings.

Visit OCZ's site for what they should be in relation to your exact modules and adjust bios accordingly.

Do you have updates set to download and install automatically overnight? Some updates require the system to restart to install themselves correctly.
