    Hmm,

Putting on my party pooping pants...

    So I ran the numbers:

A normal 23 in monitor which you can get for about $500 is 1920x1200 which it 2.3 million pixels.

This monitor, taking up twice the desk space and costing 16 times as much is 2880x900 which is 2.6 million pixels.

I seriously do not get it. If the display were 3840x1200 I might "get it" but it's not, not even close. 900 vertical is not usable for anything other than gaming and it's pretty stingy even then. Reading a document with 900 vertical is pretty useless.

For about $1000 you can have a 3840x1200 or 4.6 million pixels of dispay. Ok, with a black bar down the middle, but getting rid of that is not worth 7 grand and almost half the usable "desktop" in any universe imaginable...

That just made my 28' (1920x1200) Hannspree seem small. . .damn will have to think about it for a while. Living on two pensions (Military and SS); let see about three years should be enough time to save. Oh, ..ll by then they will have 50" with 3850 x 1920 screens, oh well good idea.
