No contest though I was thinking Elton as well but this is one of my Desert Island selections and I'm fine going out with this blaring ! In my case I will have handed over the key fob to my beloved Datsun '72 240Z.
This one for the imaginative impared ! lol
My "dream death" would be alone in a sailing boat in Northern Baltic Sea, October or November in a moderate early winter storm. Just sail to eternity.
One of my favorite contemporary Finnish composers has always been Lasse Mårtenson. At the very moment my life will end and I start my spiritual one way trip downstairs, I would love to listen his "Myrskyluodon Maija" (Myrskyluodon = Storm islet's, Maija = female name), a beautiful title song to a TV series of same name. The series, and the music, tell a story of hars conditions and life in islands of the Northern Baltic Sea.
I have difficulties to choose which version, so here I give you different ones. First the original from seventies, then a modern jazz version and finally also a modern version with Mårtenson's original lyrics. Finnish, of course, so you need to drag and drop the video to Google Translate to hear the lyrics in your language
As Mårtenson, also a keen sailor, often said: Nothing but sailing is important.
