Hi i have tri sync arcade monitor 31khz max = 60hz refresh rate.
Now i have ste windows 7 reoslution 640 x 480 at 60hz and the arcade monitor syncs fine, once windows is started. But during the windows boot screen, it is out of sync and keeps flashing. Now when i first setup the pc to the arcade monitor, it had the vista loading bar and the monitor was in sync.

What i am trying to do is get windows 7 to use the vista loading boot screen instead?

Is there anyway i can force this?

I read somewhere maybe using bcdedit to set the graphicsresolution but i can't get this command to work

Usually Windows 7 users want to fix that problem, not create it :). The method to fix it may hold the clue to creating it (which is usually caused when user adds a Windows 7 entry in boot menu or accidentally when user attempts to repair the startup menu items with Windows Vista DVD, specifically Startup Repair)

The method to fix it is, from an elevated command prompt, type:

bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US

or

bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US

Perhaps altering that string will result in your desired effect.

That's it:
To set Vista legacy green bar:
bcdedit /set bootux basic
Back to default Win7 boot animation:
bcdedit /set bootux standard
(or bcdedit /deletevalue bootux)
To get rid of all this crap at boot time:
bcdedit /set bootux disabled
