Autologon
works with a password and all versions of windows 2000+
MSconfig NO GUI option... removes the startup win 7 graphic. But does not remove the Welcome Screen with the "new RTM colours and flowers screen".
Thanks though it was a good try.
Although the Help & Support message says you can't do it, it can easily be done.
Go to Control Panel, Power Options. At the top of the list on the left is: "Require a password on wakeup." Click on that. At the bottom of the screen is "Change settings that are currently unavailable" Click on that sentence. Check mark "Don't require a password on wakeup"
I found it while setting up my new computer with Windows 7 and haven't been bothered since.
You can remove it the exact same way as XP.
-open a command and type in "control userpasswords2" and press Enter
-uncheck the users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

Thanks. This worked for me. :)
I am trying to bypass entering a password, it is possible by going to the command line and typing "control userpasswords2" you then get a management console that comes up and allows you to de-select a box for any of your user accounts, then hit apply and enter the password for this account twice. Once this is done you can reboot and it should go directly to desktop.
My problem is I am trying to do this on a computer that is on a domain and I am having different issues. Has anyone accomplished this on a PC that is on a domain? Any feedback would be helpful.

Right click desktop, personalize, click screen saver, if you do not have one set, make sure the "On resume, display logon screen" box is not selected. Also, go to control panel, power options, change plan settings and change when you want your display to turn off.
Hope that helps.
