Gary, I guess only .mov can be imported, in 32 bit photoshop only. I tried with other video formats, but not worked.
After importing, first reduce the frames, then resize the image, and finally save for web and devises .
You can install both the versions of PS at teh same time, in a 64 bit OS.
- Convert any video to mov.
- Open 32 bit photoshop, create a new document. (otherwise the import menu will not be active)
- Go to File > Import > Video frames to Layers... and browse to the .mov file.
- In the resulting video window, shift+slide to select parts to be excluded
- now, the rest is resizing the image area, reducing the frames and layers to keep the result in size, and finally,
- Save for web and device. If you see that the size is big, you can reduce the bits etc to fit it within the size constraints. Actually this the the real challenging part.
If it troubles, let us (Tom and me) know. Not that tough, but initially it may take a time.
