Hello,

I noticed in windows 7 and windows 10 that windows won't keep the explorer open maximized(even when you go into properties and change it) and it will randomly keep the windows open in small rectangles. It's really annoying, if anyone knows a tweak or way to change this please let me know.

you can go to

Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell

delete all dword entries that start with WinPos or MaxPos

restart explorer (via task manager)
relaunch explorer
it will be very small. resize it, hold CTRL and close it with the X in the top right.
relaunch explorer, maximize it, hold CTRL and close it with the X in the top right

should now start maximized.

if that does not resolve it properly, you can create shortcut of C:\Windows\explorer.exe on your desktop, right click > properties > Target box > add at the end

(space)-maximized
