Hi dragustelian,

Welcome to SevenForums!

When installing Windows 7 DVD my mouse and keyboard are disabled.
I need help to add USB 3.0 drivers onto a Windows 7 installation iso image.

There are two options available to achieve this.

The first is to use DISM++, and the second is to use the utility 7UPDATER [written by SIW2]. Both are discussed in detail here => Update your Win 7 installation media.

I hope this helps!

Hi Paul!
Thanks for the answer, I followed all the steps in the tutorial Here is how to get your installation media up to date.
I used 7Updater.
I have inserted the USB 3.0 driver into the Drivers/Bootx64 folder and in Updates/Bootx64 I have introduced the Nvme-hotfixx64 folder.
Everything went well, the mouse and keyboard were detected by windows 7, but after restart when the installation reached the page where the user name and the computer name must be entered, the mouse and the keyboard have not been detected, so I was unable to install windows 7 .
Be nice, what do I have to do next?

I think you need to put the USB 3.0 driver into the Drivers Bootx64 and Drivers Installx64!
What do you mean you introduced the Nvme-hotfixx64 folder?

I know what you are trying to do now is slipstream the USB 3.0 driver to the installation media, but allow me to share what I did myself.

When I built my computer that also has USB 3.0 ports, and even USB 2.0 ports, non of the ports worked once I installed Windows 7. So what I did was burn the USB 3.0 driver to CD on my laptop and used a PS/2 mouse (remember those old things?) to navigate to the CD drive and install the driver. After that I had the ability to use all USB ports.

Another option, and this is again if you have another computer like a laptop, is to remove the drive and connect it to your other computer with a USB to SATA port adapter. Then you can just copy/paste the driver onto the HDD and again use a PS/2 mouse and nav to that driver on the HDD and install.

I realize this is all archaic, but it does work. In the long run you are better off with slipstreaming the USB 3.0 driver into the installation media though I guess.

Still dead mouse and keyboard

Hi dragustelian,

Ok Paul, I put de USB 3.0 driver into the Drivers/Bootx64 and Drivers/Installx, but still dead mouse and keyboard.
Let me ask you something, how do I now the USB 3.0 driver is the right driver for my ASUS laptop and right for Windows 7 Professional?
On ASUS website they don't give drivers only for Windows 10 (but not USB 3.0).
My laptop is ASUS FX503VD-E4082.
So, can you help me to find out what drivers I should put into iso image?

Here are the drivers, but there is no USB 3.0 driver. So I'm assuming Win 10 installs it automatically. FX503 Driver & Tools | Laptops | ASUS USA

You should be in the tenforums forum.

Go to the control panel | device manager. Do you see any yellow exclamation marks?
