Unable to install USB 3.0 drivers

I'm unable to install usb 3.0 drivers for my usb 3.0 card on my computer. I tried the zip file found here USB3_WIN7_2021. Those told that that it isn't applicable to my system. I also tried from the intel site (Access Denied) which is what I believed I installed previously on a virtual machine. I get the error message "The procedure entry point setdefaultdlldirectories couldn't be located in the dynamic link library kernal32.dll." I also tried a manual install from device manager and it said no drivers found. What's wrong?

I wasn't but I am now and it still won't install but I was able to install the from the XHCI folder manually. Now I have USB xHCI compliant host controller under the USB section in device manager. Does that mean that I'm good to go?

Ok, are you referring to intel(r)_usb_3.0_extensible_host_controller_driver_5.0.4.43_v2 and if so how do I get it installed?

Install the update, then install the drivers. It is all in the zip.
You could use dism++ to do it.

Not applicable might mean you already have the driverframework update. We dont know what you have done. You might have installed sp0 or you might have installed using media that already included sp1. or you might have used installation media that already had sp1 and some other updates included.

Instead of wasting time, I suggest you get clean installation media that already includes sp1. Then update it using this

Update your Win 7 installation media

then do a clean install

Sometimes when you run a .msu you will get the error message about it not being applicable. In that case, make sure have "never check for updates" selected in control panel before running it.

I finally got around to reinstalling windows 7 with sp 1 integrated. From the zip USB3_WIN7_2021 I was able to install the kba and then a manual install of the drivers using device manager. However I'm not able to install Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_5.0.4.43_v2. Do I need that as well? I'm getting that a procedure entry point for kernel32.dll can't be located. When I tried to register it from command prompt I get that the entry point dll registerserver wasn't found. I'll attach a screenshot. I'm also unable to install the wifi or keyboard drivers. I'm getting "your system doesn't mean the minimum requirements for this update." It was the same thing on the last install. I tried an sfc but I got that it didn't find any problems. I didn't try to integrate usb 3.0 drivers in my media.

you probably need some updates. One way is manually install windows6.1-kb3138612-x64.msu and windows6.1-kb4474419-v3-x64.msu. Then you should be able to install drivers that require sha2 support and run windows update if desired.
