No need to let a little water get in the way of a good time. I don't mind playing there, and obviously, the wife let's me stay up late (cept when she doesn't). Game name is Fumz... add me (if the friends list isn't still borked).

I'll add you. Mine's Euphobia, but I can imagine the lag being quite bad when you're located in Cali

Shouldn't matter where you by it from (despite what Steam may say), as you already have all the Viet Nam files,

and it is just a matter of them sending you the unlock code on release day.

you should be able to buy it anywhere.

when you buy it, it asks for your ea login that you use in-game.

I know but steam saves things to different folders. Also steam wont even let you buy it if you do not have BC2 purchased through them. It keeps saying to buy core game.

as i originally posted, i bought veitnam from steam the other night with no problems, yet my core game came from a non-steam disc.

...maybe they've changed it now? i would be surprised.

i don't even think there is an unlock code involved, it's tied into your ea account, and i reckon ea just unlocks it at the right time at their end.

what about the specact OP? I was thinking about buying it. I ask because I'm a floater at work currently and my hours suck too much to waste money. However I have Prizerebel, and I can buy through steam easily. Does the spectact OP dlc work via redeem code or is that ok too?

Requires the base game Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 on Steam in order to play. thats what bugs me.

This is from a couple of weeks ago on the EA UK forum,

Vietnam, the EA Store, and Steam - Electronic Arts UK Community

OK, I'm just looking for a definitive answer to a few of questions. I've seen half-answers that don't address the specific questions, by Zhinto and others, and would love a straight answer

Actual replies by EA/DICE employees or links to OFFICIAL answers would be nice. Telling me what your personal opinion is only wastes my time and yours.

    1. If you bought BC2 through Steam, will the EA Store Vietnam pre-order work with Steam? i.e. I have the Steam version of BC2. If I pre-order Vietnam from the EA Store, will it work seamlessly, or is it going to be a huge hassle to get them to work together?

    2. Will Steam be offering the same Vietnam pre-order that the EA Store is offering, with "early" access to the game...or is the early access only going to exist through the EA Store?

    3. If you bought BC2 through the EA Store, will Vietnam purchased through Steam work with the EA Store version?

Thanks for official answers or official links that answer the questions above.

    1. Yes, it is going to work

    2. That is very much up to Steam and by the looks of it today, it's not likely. the pre-order deal is therefore only through the EA Store.

    3. Yes

    I can confirm the following:

The Three day exclusive head start will ONLY be available from EA Store.

Steam probably will sell the game - but not with the three day head start.

The game will work with ANY version of the game you have bought (retail, EA Store, Steam etc).

The game will be available to pre-order on EA Store in Asia and Australia in the next few days.

    Hope this helps.
The only thing that has changed from what EA_Velocity said is that it can now be bought through Steam, and the early release for Steam pre-orders is the sa,e as getting it from EA.

Requires the base game Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 on Steam in order to play. thats what bugs me.
That is because VN is not a standalone game, it is an expansion/add-on to BFBC2.

I know but steam saves things to different folders. Also steam wont even let you buy it if you do not have BC2 purchased through them. It keeps saying to buy core game.
Then just get it through the EA Store,

    Battlefield: Bad Company
