    Windows 7 RTM x86
    AMD 4000+ x64 processor
    asrock 939sli32-esata2
    NVIDIA 8800GTS - latest drivers
    3GB DDR memory
    37GB Raptor

So when I join a server I have like a really odd lag type feeling to the game. It feels like my latency is 100, and my netgraph will show 100 but when I hit [tab] to check my score I can also see my latency states that its like 18, but it still feels like 100. Everything is the same from my XP setup. I tried using a fresh graphics config and the my old xp one. So I am not sure what to do.

    Thanks guys!

And yes I have already setup a dual boot running windows 7 and xp. The problem is within windows 7, because it runs perfectly on XP...even the same install files. I just went on win7 HD and played the game perfectly on XP.

I would just rather not have dual setups, id like windows7 to be my primary os. :-(

i had the same problem you have but after some research i found a fix.
What is causing the lag is the "Multimedia Class Scheduller" service. all you need to do is disable the service. sound is dependent on this service so you will then need to run regedit, then find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Audiosrv\DependOnService double click on it and remove MMCSS from the list

    reboot and play lagfree.
this fixed the problem for me!

I found this breaks the "X-fi Mode" sound setting in battlefield 2 and reverting the change doesnt not restore the functionality

Just updating this thread, it has the first part of the fix (I think I may have even used this thread as part of my research), but as noted it breaks some things. Here is the full fix: "lag" in online games with Windows 7
