And as usual, sorry for the double post, but I have to comment on this.
After watching it, I take back what I said about COD ripping off Titanfall...
It actually ripped off Halo + Unreal Tournament + Crysis instead. lol
This series needs to die, like 5 games ago, it was the same game every year for like 5 years running, they just changed the name and changed a few little things knowing that 9 year olds would still cry to mummy to get them the game.
It's truly sad that after COD2 and Modern Warfare (COD4) the franchise took such a deep dive. The first MW was so cool, despite the fact I disliked that the storyline moved away from the WW2 setting; it was still fun.
I'm truly looking forward to this year's campaign, though, despite everything. And I like the fact they expanded upon BO2's loadout system - it was really fun choosing loadouts in the campaign, that was my highlight of the game.
But in the end, I still agree with you: COD as a franchise should have ended years ago... Just like Medal of Honor.
I could do away from all that Hyper Jumping effects but yeah, the first thing I said to myself watching the sneak peek was... WOW Halo on steroids with some modern weapons.
I don't know I will reserve more comments until I see an actual Campaign gameplay. Old school dictates that the less time I spend painting my nails and choosing what skirt to wear, the more time I will have capping butts, and the more I will enjoy the game but, nobody seems to cater to old geezers like me anymore. I still love a good plot and storyline whereas everybody has decided that the Cool effect is better for the ADD children of today... I will admit, I am a bit sad!
The reason COD is the most popular FPS franchise is because the "flow" of the game is really really smooth when it comes to gameplay. When you move around in COD you really feel the freedom to do "anything". Comparing COD to some older Medal of Honor games (pre-2010) is like comparing two men running through a crowded street. One slips by but the other has shackles on his feet and keeps bumping into people. MOH's movement always felt extremely stiff and clunky - few games made the flow of the game as smooth and enjoyable as COD; but that's all there is to it.
the main problem I have with COD is the FOV, seriously not into the tunnel vision, much like everyone else in here, I enjoyed the call of duty series right up until treyarch decided it wanted a slice of the action after their involvement with United Offensive (which was an amazing game BTW), they just absolutely ruined the franchise with World at War and infinity ward were playing catchup from there out, now it seems that they are trading blows at how ridiculous they can make the franchise.
