No they haven't. I'm getting kicked in all PB games I have.

I think that they have only fixed it for build 7600 RTM.

Yeah I don't know, but it sucks Although I did find something humorous on PunkBusted while searching to see if others are having problems, I hope the rest of you get a kick out of this.

One of the staff members said this about Punkbuster not working on Windows 7 RTM:

RTM versions are not considered final general public release versions, as supported by EvenBalance, or most other software companies. RTM versions generally still have bugs, and are designed for release to hardware and software suppliers for exactly that reason - to iron out issues before release to the general public.

I wonder if the people at EvenBalance think this...it might explain their reluctance to support it. Maybe it would help if we let them know that RTM means Release To Manufacturing...

I know, but I was just saying, I'm hoping EvenBalance isn't that clueless.

FWIW I did a clean install of the RTM last night onto my computer and found that PB/COD4 work fine.

    Here is what I did:
    - install COD4 - when it asks to install PB, I said "no"
    - installed COD4 patches up to 1.7
    - manually installed PBSETUP 3.4 into another directory, "D:\Apps\Punkbuster" if you care the details
    - ran the PBSETUP installer, told it to "Add Game" for COD4
    - downloaded and ran the PBSBVC.EXE to install the PB services

Ran COD4, joined servers... no kicks

I didn't have to do any compatibility mode settings on the PB service executables nor did I change any attributes of the services to "own desktop" or anything like that.

I like to keep the most current version of PBSETUP installed outside of any games so that I have control over the version being used on my computer.

Refreshing really after the PB snafus with the RC releases.

I did everything the same except I let it install PB when it asked. I guess that could be my issue, maybe I'll try reinstalling all my PB games again.
