Hi,
I bought Far Cry 2 not too long ago, because I had a corrupt pirate version ( and I'm now buying as much as I can original. Tired of this kind of non sense with pirate sh*t)... Now when I try to install the original, I get asked to uninstall the game which I did... I cleaned the registry adn pretty much everything else I could think of but the game won't install. Any ideas?
Hi CrzyCrg,
Glad to hear you're on the straight-and-narrow. Unfortunately, it seems as though your pirating past has come back to haunt you. As mentioned earlier, if the problems you're having are in any way related to illegal software then we can't offer support. The best I can do is recommend a clean install of Windows 7. Good luck!

ok, thanks! what's going to be the best way then to back up what I have on my hard drive now, for the least hassle when I've done a fresh install?
There's no telling in what ways the corrupt software has harmed your computer, so I'd recommend moving only your most essential documents and media files to an external hard drive, performing the clean install, replacing those files, then reinstalling your programs (either from the original discs or by re-downloading). Here's a tutorial for the clean install: Clean Install Windows 7
That's all I can help you with at this point. Let me know if you have any questions after you finish that, though!

Got this game with the purchase of my video card, installed fine on my Win 7 64 bit Pro but I am going to have to beg to differ with whomever said the game was awesome.
For a Rated M game is very childish and none at all related to the Original Far Cry, which I had no doubt since UBI's latest trend is to change all Franchises (or so it seems). To make you go find diamonds so you can make the game last longer for lack of a good gameplay is just ridiculous.
To each their own, I just hate having to do side jobs or look for diamonds to buy stupid stuff for my weapons, after all, this is a mature game and not a Lego-Type game... my weapon should be ready to fire and do damage from the get go.
As I said in another post this is a 50/50 game, you either love it or hate it.
Sorry to say but I gotta agree with AstaLaVista. In fact I flat out quit playing it.
And the drive here, drive there, drive everywhere got a bit tiresome
As Asta said - To each their own :)
Far Cry 2. For me
Single Player-LAME(like sygnus mentioned.you need to drive there, back here, run there)
Multiplayer- I can accept it,I've made my own map and play with my friends through LAN and it's fun
Did you get to the other side of the map, or whatever is called? that was it for me, that is all I could stand before I put it aside.
I don't play online so I wouldn't know whether it holds its own or not but jebus, I have never played a more lame shooter game and I did play some of that Cheese Metal Gear Solid Snake whatever game.
I even went back and fired up my Far Cry Game and went through the whole thing again just to take the bad taste FC2 had left in my mouth. Woof, what a difference, weapons work the way they should, you hit someone in the leg, he goes down, shoot him in the head he is down, etc, etc... not even remotely close to what happened in FC2.
One of the most funniest (and childish) things was doing the mission that told you to blow up a convoy... and away you would go driving as fast as you could to get there only to find out that, not only the truck was empty with nothing to really blow but it was moving in a circle so all you had to do was setup camp and wait for it...
Yeah, It was s stupid mission. I quit shortly after the mission where you had to find the Kings gold/diamonds. After that i just lost interest as you have to "find" new missions after completing the last one. It sort of becomes repetitive after awhile.
Nice graphics though
As for the original Far Cry, as I've said many a time, it's a completely different game. Far Cry 2 has NOTHING to do with Far Cry.... unless you want to throw in a CIA angle. Maybe.
At any rate I love Far Cry, still do. If you haven't played them yet Matto 3 & Matto 4 are very good mods for Far Cry. Nice, long, and hard.
Er ...oh wait, that didn't sound right
