    with the startup disk i get the huge error letters. and it says "cannot load imagex 0 from src wim file"

    OK the thing is messed up. If you follow these instructions, you will be able to reinstall the new system

    try this to install it from usb instead.. some dvd drives don't play well with windows 7 install disks.. Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool[3]=Installation%20and%20Setup

    What makes you think the Recovery partition blocked your Win7 install? Is it a clean install or in-place upgrade from Vista?

    If you have files on the HD you need to retrieve, do it first using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

    Then wipe the HD before clean reinstalling Win7 from booted DVD: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

    After install, newer drivers will be delivered via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your computer model.
