Could indeed still be memory. Post up the bluescreen bugcheck file to our Crashes and Debugging forum here and they will quickly determine the (driver, memory, HD, etc) cause.

As you discovered 64 bit can be a bit more challenging with drivers, but this is still not a reason to change out drivers given by the installer or quickly updated by optional Windows Updates. This is not XP. MS spent a fortune getting the Win7 drivers into the installer and via Updates. I would not change drivers unless performance dictates it.

Ok, some points as ive not slept at all yet and ive wrote like a fool! lol...

1: Its one copy of windows with the same activation key as its mine I can use that key on both machines!
(this has nothing to do with my problem though, hehe)

2: Where did I get the software from? ... please, dont ask a stupid question! haha I obviously got it from the
    install disk via the manufacturer.

3: The RAM! to make sure as many of you are saying so, ive just checked it and result was good!

4: The motherboard is brand new ASUS M4A77T SI and ive just checked for a recent BIOS update and its up to date.

@pbcopter ... funny thing now, since ive done the startup repair its not doing it! also since ive done as you said and turned off automatic restart! now I could be wrong, it may do it soon so ill keep you posted but its looking good just now. Weird

@gregrocker its not the blue screen of death mate as its a quick flash then restart! and fixed...

Thank you everyone for your answers.

You can only use your Product Key on one machine at a time.

If RAM is to be tested, it should be done for 5-6 passes or overnight using memtest86.

Check your logs for errors at the time you had the problem, and for repeat errors to google to find their cause and resolution. A crash as you describe should be logged and possibly have a bugcheck file.

Thats not a stupid question I have had bad copy's before just like bad movies, so there you go, you install a bad copy of windows and it's has a slight defect say in the drivers section of the install you'll get bsod's..

How many passes did you run memtest86?
