Help Please
I downloaded UBUNTO from a CD onto my HP laptop today (windows 7),trial, NOT install, seemed to work very well.Problem is since rebooting into window 7 I have tried to do a system recovery (no reason) but I keep getting an error message 0x80070570. Any ideas how to solve it please.

Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings maximized. Use Snipping Tool in Start Menu. Tell us what is on each partition.
Chances are the Recov partition had its Active flag stolen by Ubuntu. Are you trying to run Factory Recovery from Win7 or boot?

Please Help
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to do a simple restore to an earlier time but each time I do it I get the error message 0x80070570.
I downloaded Ubunto from a cd from boot up, I choose the trial option not the install. Please find attached a picture of the error message and the disk management screen.
Thank for you help.

You could try a "repair install" from your installation DVD which will preserve your files and user data?

You have a working windows 7, and you tried out a live Ubuntu without installing it. You show us the disk management partition map which shows no linux-type filesystems. Ubuntu is a red herring here - no relevance.
You now want to do a windows restore for no apparent reason and it fails more than once with an error 0x80070570. This is a file copy error, indicating that the restore point may be corrupt.
Can you make a new restore point, and attempt to restore from that? If so there is nothing wrong but a corrupt old restore point which should be removed.
