    Please help

My laptop did not come with any CD's when I bought it from the shop. I am getting a lot of error messages when trying to run Windows Live Messenger like "system32/MSACM32.dll is either not designed to sun on Windows or it contains an error"

I have tried reinstalling msn but the same problem still stands!
Also I cannot seem to play music from youtube or any other website but my Windows Media Player plays audio fine. The error message for that is "system32/dxva2.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error"

    Somebody please help me

    Run a SFC Scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Do a Scan to repair system files. Follow the instructions. I don't know if that will fix your problem, but it could work. Let us know how it works out :)

    Hello Shadia,

Did you open a elevated command prompt (right click -> Run as administrator) to use the command in?

Are you logged in an administrator account?

If so, copy your C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log file to your desktop, ZIP it, and upload it here. I'll be happy to take a look at it. :)

Now it says that it can not locate the drive, yes I am logged in as Admin

I am trying to solve MSACM32.dll problem, I can not play sound from the internet or load up Windows Live messenger.

I am a computing student so I do have a good knowledge on computers but this is a problem I have never experienced and when I google the problem, All I am finding out is I have to download a registry software that can fix the problem. However all the recommended software are charging stupid prices and I refuse to fall for a scam.

download run and update combofix Bleeping Computer Downloads: ComboFix Download
Make sure you disable your antivirus before you run it and you must be connected to allow it to update or it will not run with full functionality
That should fix all the problems your having

It's important you run a full System File Checker to repair OS files if necessary. If you're not able to get it to run using the Elevated Command Prompt as suggested, then run it from the Command Line in System Recovery Options using this method: SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot

If it finds files to repair, run it repeatedly until they are fixed.

If problems persist, work through the steps I gave you here: troubleshooting steps. Ask back for any questions.
