Annoying "Stopped working" Windows message

There is a windows message coming up on the middle of the screen every 5 minutes or so, warning that the "Dell Support Centre" has stopped working and that it will look for a solution.

So what can I do to disable this annoyance or even all the "Not working" warnings since they are useless to me anyway :)

Obviously there is some sort of problem with the machine so I would have thought solving that would stop the message.

Perhaps if you post back with more details about your machine and when this started to happen and what you were doing at the time one of the experts will be able to help you out, oh and Welcome to the forum.:)

Hello Triton3 and welcome to Seven Forums.

This may not be the solution you want but you could always uninstall the Dell Support Center from control panel > programs and features.

dell support center has stopped working - Desktop Audio Forum - Desktop - Dell Community

In the alternative you could visit the Dell Support site and make sure you have the latest updates and drivers from Dell. You could also try to use System Restore to return your machine to a date/time prior to when these nag messages first started.

You can download the updated Dell Support Centre here:

Dell Support Center | Dell

You may need to change the link to your region first, which you can do at the top of the web page.

I think before I did anything, I'd want to investigate why I'm getting this error message all of a sudden. Have you checked your recent Event Viewer? Have you recently downloaded any programs, apps or updates that may have conflicted with something on your system?

Does Dell offer any facility for troubleshooting Dell system problems?

You might want to also check into some of the Windows troubleshooting features. Here are a few suggestions. There are others available;

Thanks for the replies and also for the welcome. The problem at present seems to have gone away of itself after 3 days of annoyance, apparently it was just a glitch. If it returns I will probably follow above advice to uninstall the Dell security centre it is not of much use anyway.
