I have no idea the significance of a partition. I just want to do whatever will give me a clean and healthy windows..... I want to clean this computer up so bad. Will you just tell me what you would do? I already backed up my files on a separate USB?

Greg and I would both tell you to delete all the partitions during the install.

Like I said, a partition is where you install windows.

Did you read this yet ?

    Clean Install Windows 7

Do you have another pc to communicate with us while you`re donig this or no ?

If you want to clean up the install you have then work through the steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

If you want to start fresh with a new install, then follow the steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

First you need to read over the two tutorials to decide which you want to do.

    Thank you SEVEN FORUMS

This post is beyond overdue and I apologize to gregrocker and AddRAM. In my final few weeks of nursing school my laptop (lifeline) started acting up. It started taking 15 min to load up after starting and every action seemed sluggish, thus making studying a ridiculous and drawn out process.

As you can tell by my original post I knew NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS! All my questions in google brought me to this forum. I don't belong to any online community of any but in my state of despair I posted my concerns and asked for help. It blew my mind that I had a response that same evening and even to this day I tell people how two gentlemen walked me through how to complete a clean reinstall.

I really hope all that are reading understand I knew nothing about computer, therefore I was afraid to click on anything for fear of completely ruining and/losing everything. Gregrocker and AddRAM asked multiple questions and followed up with step by step instructions on what to do. This not only forced me to forced me to learn simple terms and tasks, it also helped me understand how my computer runs and how to maintain it.

AddRAM and Gregrocker went far beyond what I could ever ask for. I owe this Forum more than I can put into words because my computer not only kicks a** but I learned so much in the process. To know there are honest people willing to help total strangers has made me realize the need to pay it forward. I know this all may seem over the top but if you all new my level of ignorance and the end product this forum helped facilitate, you would totally nod and appreciate.
