Date format problem in taskbar, cant remove day of the week
I have until today had my task bar set up with small icons and the clock in the corner showing the time and date in a UK format eg.
19:45
31/8/17
but today, for some unknown reason my computer has decided to add in the day of the week
19:45
Thursday
31/8/17
but because I have the task bar nice and short, I only see the time.
I have gone through and am trying to change the date/time formats (control panel > Clock, Language and Region > Change date time or number format) but nothing I do will make a difference. I can't get rid of the day of the week.
And it shouldn't even be an option for me to have it!
The only date format options I am given (as I am located in the UK) are:
Short date options
dd/MM/yyyy
dd/MM/yy
d/M/yy
d.M.yy
yyyy-MM-dd
Long date options
dd MMMM yyyy
d MMMM yyyy
None of these (as I understand it) should even be giving me the day of the week. Wouldn't that require ddd or dddd ?
But it gets better...
If I go to Additional settings > date and manually put in an option for dddd dd/MM/yy I get
19:45
Thursday
Thursday 31/08/17
so I know the day of the week twice!
Does anyone know whats going on? how can I get rid of this annoying day of the week?
