    I ran Super antispyware and it found nothing, either. I think after four scans I can safely conclude that there is no problem. I still can't explain the surge in memory use, but that seems to have settled down as well.

    I'll chalk this one up to confusion on my part.

    Be sure to monitor the Add-ons in your browser, too. I don't let anything run except Flash and a .pdf helper.

    Yeah, that's all I run, too. The fewer add-ons the better for me.

    Some times it's better to disable even them if your not using them,
    Adobe products are so bloated
