    FAT 32

This will get a chuckle from most of you but my D: drive which has my XP restore files in still FAT 32. I have never used the restore and had even forgotten it was FAT 32. I want to make the whole drive my C: and install Windows 7. When I format D: prior to the W7 install, will that make it NTFS or do I need to use the Convert command before hand? Thanks,

    Hello Bigmck,

Yes, Windows 7 will format it as NTFS. You can delete and format the partitions during installation if you like as well.

    Clean Install Windows 7

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
