Yes I get this box, But I've tried every combination of all the
options available without success
So you are saying that changing any setting (e.g. Title bar font size) does not work?
Have you tried running System File Checker (mentioned earlier in this thread)?
Open the Command Prompt (Use the "Run as administrator" option in the context menu).
Type:
sfc /scannow

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Yes I have tried sfc /scannow - several times , no change.
Sxlcartron, excuse me for asking a question a bit off the main one, but I'm confused about the length of the unreadable right-click menu you see. Is Google Chrome open but minimized when you right-click its icon on the taskbar? Or is the program simply pinned to your taskbar? I can't read the menu (of course!), but the number of items (with their icons) is quite different from any menu I can reproduce. Can you fill me in?
Gini, pinned to the taskbar are icons for Firefox and Chrome.
If I right-click either of them in the Taskbar I get a list popping-up
with the heading 'Most Visited' ( in the case of Chrome ) or 'Recent'
( Firefox) : the items in either of these lists are pale lettering against a
grey background and very difficult to read. I am searching ( without success )
for a way to change the lettering to black(say). It does not matter whether
Chrome is open,closed or minimized.
Thanks for answering, sxlcartron! Now I understand why I've never seen a similar menu. It's because I chose not to use the jump list to display recently opened items as soon I as started using Windows 7. You might try disabling this feature and then re-enabling it to see if the white font behavior will correct itself. I think these two links will help if you feel that playing with this setting is worth trying:

Can't hurt — good luck!
Thanks for the suggestion - but unfortunately, no luck!
Try this and see if it helps. Go into your Control Panel and click on Fonts. Your screen should look like below. Click on Font Settings and at the next screen click on "Restore Default Font Settings".
tried it , same result-thanks anyway.
