Is guest mode available in windows 7?

I need something like guest mode for a couple of computers I'm working on. I have guest accounts but I'd like their histories to be wiped when the users log out of the accounts. Thank you for your help.

You can wipe the history by running a program or script at logoff or logon to do what you need.

I have guest accounts installed on both computers. what I'm asking about is "guest mode". It was available on Windows XP. With guest mode activated all activity in a guest account would be wiped when they signed out. I'm helping out a small library. They have 2 computers for use by the general public. I'm trying to find a way to keep from having to manually erase guest activity.

Ok, some things need to be cleared up here as I think we are thinking guest account and guest mode is the same thing. It is not.


I know guest account in windows 7 does not delete documents they have created or history or anything of the sort when they log off. All guest account does is block access to settings and other users documents. Basically making them only have access to programs installed (that don't require admin rights), and nothing else. Nothing is deleted on logoff. At least in my experience. The easiest way to fix this would be to have a script at reboot or logon of an admin account that turns off the guest acccount (purging everything) and then turns it back on.

However, microsoft removed this once the product went out of beta-final version. Why? I have no idea. Microsoft loves getting rid of good Ideas.

No, theGuest Mode is not available on the Windows® 7 build 7600.
Microsoft® had included this under the Beta versions of Windows® 7
(and RC, I think) but removed it in the RTM release version.
