I forgot my Windows 7 password, what are my options?

I had a brain fart and I simply can't remember my Windows 7 login password. I'm currently looking at User Account - Reset Password in Windows 7 but most of these options I can't get to work.

For some reason, when I boot up with my Win7 disc, my mouse wireless mouse/keyboard don't work so I can't click the "Next" button to get over to the "Repair your computer" link. I even tried a USB kb/mouse with no luck.

Any way to fix this? I really would like to avoid installing Windows over again, I don't even think I can anyways because of this keyboard issue. I've tried all the passwords I can remember, I must of picked a hard one this time.

    Thanks,
    bud

Don't use a wireless mouse. Use an usb cable mouse instead. Same for keyboard. Have you tried other usb ports?
do you have other bootable cd/dvd's? If so... is keyboard and mouse working then?

I tried a USB mouse and keyboard it wont work at all. I clicked F8, went into safe made and selected
Repair this computer. Once I get to the Windows screen the mouse/keyboard do not work, I tried front ports and back. This a new PC I had built with a buddy. I don't believe I have any other bootable cds.

Edit: I also tried F8 > Safe Mode with Command Prompt so I could enter a CMD prompt. However, when I select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option, it doesn't bring a dos window for me to enter any command in?

Don't know if it works. It's not free as well. Why not use the standard steps you mentioned earlier?

User Account Password - Change from WinRE works as well. In step 6 (the black command prompt) you can do:
    Code:
    net user youraccountname newpassword
If that succeeds you can skip step 7-13

Like my previous post stated, I can't get any keyboard to work or my mouse, USB or wireless. I tried every USB port on my PC.

Try to solve the mouse and keyboard issue. Are keyboard and mouse working fine on another machine?

Without a working mouse or keyboard ... you can't give input to the computer.... so you can't solve the problem.

I took a Dell Keyboard and an Acer mouse from my a computer upstairs, they work on that one fine. They also work on my computer, where I forgot my password. However soon as hit "repair my computer" and that install screen comes up, the keyboard and mouse die on me. The keyboard has a green light when its on. Soon as the install screen pops up the green light turns off. Once I restart the PC the light turns back on and the keyboard works again. The mouse has the red light, once I plug it in the light stays on. I tried every port on my PC, as long as I'm not in the installation area my kb/mouse work, soon as I attempt anything else, they dont work.

And for some reason when I click on boot in safe mode w/ command prompts, when I click that option the command prompt never shows up. So I really have no way of getting this password reset as my PC simply can't recognize my mouse and kb once I'm in system repair/installation.

Do you have a win7 install disk?
also... boot to Advanced Boot Options and select "repair your computer". Keyboard and mouse also not working then?
