Autohotkey is a macro program for the keyboard. I've gotten the hang of making its script file minimally.
If I simply run the AHK exe file as Admin in Win 7 my sample F1 program key works fine for the simple text/
login info I have in it.

However this program should be at system Startup. Autohotkey said something about putting the
program in Start > Programs > Start folder but I see no such thing.

Alternativiely I tried to run msconfig the old XP way. That opens but I don't see how to add anything.

How can I make Autohorkey load at Startup?

Any suggestions for alternatives in freeware for Win7. Previously I was using Launchboard for many years in XP. That will load but not execute (remap the function keys) in Win7

Welp, there it is all right. I'll see if I can get there. I don't recall seeing all programs at Start as I had with XP to open that group. I will examine more carefully.

I considered making a new thread but I am the Original Poster.

From the above I found the Startup ok. I moved the AutoHotKey .exe into the
Startup folder which only had desktop .ini in it.

I will contact AutoHotKey as well but the reason I came back here is that
true, an error issues for a script file AutoHotkey cannot find, but the program icon is not showing
up in the start area by the clock-- which name I never get straight-- screen right.

Whomever may have read this, it is not totally solved until it is totally solved.

I'll see what AHK says about the script error.

I had lapsed finishing this until my other attempt at learning this months ago' disk failed and I am now
starting over.
