    Book Suggestion ?


    Hello,

    Anyone suggest a really basic book at a H.S. Junior level that describes
    how computers work, without presupposing any knowledge of subject ?

    Probably needs a chapter or two on binary arithmetic, Registers, and progress thru what
    a HD is, and something about how Memory is organized perhaps.

    But, simple and basic.

    Real beginner stuff, but reasonably thorough.

    Google with proper keywords would be the best source imho. i.e., for dummies, simplified, basics, etc.

    This is a good book: How computers work

    You can look at the beginning of it at the link above. Not sure how jargon free it is but it looks like a decent place to start.
