    Grub?

Are you dual booting windows with any Linux distro?

If so, try to update Grub. The process might vary depending on the linux distro used there.

    Hi lebdorz.

Can you let us see the a camera snap of the screen where it is saying about Grub?

Windows has nothing to do with Grub, unless it is a dual boot with a Linux.

By the way, how have you activated the installation? Online or by phone?

Did the OP buy this pc new or second hand ? If the latter, it's possibly a piracy problem - some activation exploits use Grub.

    Hello again

here's how I fixed it, when windows 7 gives u boot failure with ggrub message:

    1-insert win7 original DVD
    2- Get into Repair mode
    3- choose cmd prompt
4- type this in one line: bootsect.exe /nt60 SYS /force
    5- exit and Restart

thanks a lot for ur fast replies

    Hi,
Interesting string where or how did you come up with it ?
The disk at some point must of had Linux on it :/

It could either have been Linux on the drive previously, or activation exploit.

To reassert the Win7 boot loader, one must confirm that the 100mb System Reserved partition (if you have it) or the Win7 partition (if you don't) is Partiion Marked Active

Then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times which automates all of the bootsect and bootrec commands in addition to checking for other possibly needed repairs.

If this fails then try Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

    Grub is Linux bootloader.

If it was not Linux then I will go with what other said, a possible counterfeit, as others said (I am not aware of it) that some activation explotis are Grub based.

There is no other possible explanation of the presence of Grub there.

But, the computer is running stable at this point, that is enough. Try to keep away of activation exploits, and I would suggest to never install Linux (Grub) on the same HDD with windows because Grub can corrupt windows bootloader beyond repair.
