How can I get Windows to work well on a new mobo?

I have a Biostar mobo that gave me problems (sudden power loss) and I decided to replace it with a MSI A55m-P33 socket FM1. The existing Windows 7 Pro installation booted and it ran okay, but there were some issues that affected performance. Being my primary PC, I sucked it up and reinstalled Windows. Well, I built a new system (for someone else) on the Biostar board I replaced (thinking it may have been the ram originally), but a month later, it began giving me the same problem (turns out the board IS bad). I decided to order the same MSI A55m-P33 as NOS (since it is out of production now) because it’s a great board. I know from experience that I’ll have the exact same issues allowing Windows to adapt to this board without reinstalling. My question is: is there a better way to reuse my installation of Windows so all existing drivers are replaced? Truth is: I have no idea why Windows performed slowly and hibernated like crap, as I had no patience to deal with it (no backup PC at the time), I just clean installed. Any advice to help windows better adapt to a different board? I don't want the many gigs of MP3 and video data wiped from the drive (because it's a big task, requiring I bust out backup disks to reload all of these media files back in the hdd after reinstallation).

We've help many thousands Adjust Win7 to boot on new hardware with Paragon Adaptive Restore CD
which makes sure the correct SATA driver is there (the only possible deal killer), removes the HID and SID since it is a conflict between those that cause Win7 not to boot on most different mobos.

So you might try that to see if it goes smoother. Once you run the P2P Adjust and it boots, watch it swap out all drivers from the System tray in a cascade that eventually ends and requires a reboot. If you don't see that cascade then reboot to force it.

Next Enable hardware auto-updating via Windows Update (Steps 3 and 6) to Check for Updates, install all Important and Optional Windows Updates which will include many patches and drivers required to make Win7 run smoothly on that hardware. Keep going back for more Updates until no more are offered.

You might also look over the tools and methods which work best to get and keep a perfect Clean Reinstall Windows 7 which has been used by over 1.5 million consumers without a single complaint and compiles everything that works best in Win7.

Thank you sir. One concern: The board booted off the boot HDD into Windows just fine and found the video driver all by itself. It's even using the Aero theme fine. This A55 board took to this process much better than the last board I did this with. Should I run one of those utilities in the link anyway? It boots perfectly. Perhaps for the drivers?

Then what is the exact problem?

I don't think you need PAR if it's running fine, but it couldn't hurt if you have insurmountable problems. I say this because I've never seen PAR not cause Win7 to run as well as it ever did on previous hardware.

Did you install all drivers exactly as I said above?

The reason was because I was certain I was going to run into issues because I've done this setup before and it went horribly wrong. This time, surprisingly, it booted fine, and the drivers were swapped and reinstalled.

Everything went well without a problem. I'll call this solved. Thank you very much for the resources! Much appreciated.
