Changed display text size to 500% elderly dad computer. please help!

Hey guys, I have an elderly dad who is now vision impaired and he has having a hard time seeing his computer. Trying to help, I went in and messed around with the font sizes on the Personalization, Display settings. I pushed it up to a custom size 500%! and now I cannot get it back to the regular size. I can get back to the display screen, but it's so huge, I cannot even TAB down. I am totally stuck.

I even tried to do a system restore to yesterday, but the font size is so big I can't even do that. I also can't scroll down on the "Display" page. I can only scroll on some sort of right hand side of the page that has the big blue question mark help button thing.

    Please, if anyone can help...

Hello moonlight71, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

If you like, you can use the .reg file from OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to reset the DPI back to the default 96 DPI (100%).

If you push Start and type DPI, there you should be able to adjust the font size.

Hi there, Thanks for the help so far. Neither of those worked yet. I tried option 3 and downloaded the .reg file but I can't even click on "run". That's why I can't fix this thing. Everything I try, I just cannot get to the buttons I need to click on or scroll down to what I need to see.
    ugh. Any other ideas?

Hi moonlight71 and Welcome to WSF. Now that you have downloaded that .reg file boot into Safe Mode and run it. Safe Mode is a bare bones Windows environment and the resolution changes you applied have no baring there. to get there restart the computer. On boot up start tapping F8 till you get the selection screen. Select Safe Mode. Log into the system and locate the .reg file and run it. After it's completed
    boot back to regular Windows.
