System hangs at boot after loading CLASSPNP.SYS

Hi, i restarted my computer yesterday after i was getting bad frames in a game i was playing, and after that it wont boot up. i let it run for ~10 hours overnight and woke up to the same thing. i have searched and searched for the resolution but to no avail. I am able to boot into the WinRE environment and startup repair fails at the system integrity check (sfc) but when running it myself with the args /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows\ it passes successfully. i manually removed a driver for a usb com port that i had installed recently but that didnt work either. trying to use safemode reveals the computer manages to load up to CLASSPNP.sys and then never continues. So right now im stuck, i have looked around and asked around to no avail. Can anyone help me diagnose?

Your treat is market as Solved. Is it?

Found this Windows 7 fails to go into safe mode. Stuck at classpnp.sys

"i got to the harddrives and there was the problem, the cable was fine, but the d-drive (not the windows 7 drive) was not. After disconnecting it windows started and made me a very happy man."
