Sleep - Keyboard Wake Not Working

    Hi,
as per the title, as of today my keyboard won't wake my desktop. i select Sleep from the Start button options, goes to sleep as usual, but now i have to press the case's power button. i've had a quick look at some power options, Hybrid Sleep was enabled and i'm pretty sure i had disabled it, but after turning it off i'm still having the same prob. had a quick look at search on here, one thread

PC Comes Back From Sleep Mode Only With Power Button
    linked to a vista doc, i tried the CMD;

    powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

and it listed the mouse and keyboard. - is there anything else i can try?

    TIA

Download and run Malwarebytes [FREE] from here => Malwarebytes.

[1] Have you installed any new hardware, software or updates prior to this happening?
[2] Have you tried System Restore? [This reverts the computer back to its original state prior to any recent updates etc being applied].

    I hope this helps!

We don't know what hardware you have. Please edit your profile with all your hardware specs.
This SevenForums tutorial [Published by Brink and written by CyberZeus] makes this task very easy and quick to do. Click here => System Info - See Your System Specs

If your keyboard is connected via USB, it may be that your power configuration is turning off all USB ports during configuration.
Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options and click on Change Plan settings - Change advanced Power settings.
    Under USB check the setting

    thanks for the replies.
    have scanned, no issues
    nothing new installed
haven't restored, seems a sledgehammer approach for someting like this
USB settings has only one enter, USB selective suspend, set to enabled.

Wolfie, I'm having the exact same issue (With my Toshiba Satellite ultrabook) and my USB settings are the same. It just started in the last day or so. Did you ever find a solution other than System Restore?

    Hi,

no, i never found anything but a few days later (not sure when, i don't always use that feature) it was working again. maybe it was a Win update or something? it was just one of those cases where i came back to the machine and out of habit i hit a key instead of pressing the power button, and just as i realised, the machine woke up. sorry i can't help, maybe you'll have the same luck.

Very strange. It almost seems like something was stopping it from working, like a new update being downloaded and installed and it needed a restart to take affect!
