    Missing Language bar

On the the win 7 PC are 2 languages.
The 'switch language' on the taskbar has gone.
I've followed the guides & have ticked 'display on task bar' but it's not appearing even after a restart.
    It's my wife's PC so I'm a bit rusty on win 7.
    Gotta be something simple.
Has someone got the patience to help me restore the language bar?

    thanks.

    Hi

IF i remember correctly only Ultimate and Enterprise versions have the option for Dual language support unlike later versions
There was a "program" called Vistalator, which could add additional languages unfortunately MS got wise to it and if it was detected turned the OS non-genuine!!!

Hi. The version is Ultimate Win 7. We've always had two languages on both PCs. Win-7 was part of the package when we bought the PC years ago. Until last night she could see it on the task bar & I cannot seem to make it re-appear. We can toggle between the languages via the key board but that's painful vs clicking on the taskbar.

OK. found a youtube vid. with the solution being to turn on CFTMON.exe
And all comments say _"thanks it worked"_
But it's not showing up on our PC.

Where nowadays do I safely download CFTMON from?

    Hi

    not looked at that vid,
have you got a restore point, about a couple of months old, should bring it back
AND AS PART OF IT, it should show what will be ignored, ie something that has "removed" your ability to see it on taskbar
    (has anything showing been updated)

    you could also try
    sfc /scannow
    and KB947821

    both are system repair tools

Hi Roy. Not game to try System Restore nowadays. She's got too much on the disk & I'm not game to risk the rath if it goes wrong.

Google suggest many places to download the exe but I don't know who can be trusted.
Can u give me a safe download link for cftmon.exe?

So no other back-up option Macrium or Ameobi???

run the 2 options i gave you
they will NOT affect her data, or your life

    FORGOT to mention
that system restore can still be backed out-of AFTER it shows you the "problem" updates/changes ignored by it

    System Restore has 'no backups'.
She says Win7 pop-up said yesterday something like "You have a problem in windows. Will try & resolve."
And since then no language bar in the task bar. And other issues she thinks.

Scannow?? Once I hit ENTER a window flashes & disappears. Taskbar doesn't show scannow is running. No indication its running.
