Actually I preferred 2000, XP has plenty of features I am not fond of, this is not about an unwilling or inability to change, it is about interjecting change without an option (or at least an easy one), I stand by my statement that "Libraries" were created for those that did not have the ability to organize data - or those that have several low capacity drives scatted throughout a system and need a "central organizer" for them this is probably the greatest function ever created.
As for me being the only thread on the web, there are 352 separate threads on this site similar to my original question.
I will never store data on the C:/ - I have 3 PCs on my home network and a 4Tb NAS with neat organization into separate files/folders.
My PCs are portals to data not the caretaker, I will always organize my data myself – I like Windows 7, I just wanted the option of libraries to be an ON/OFF function, so instead of listening to those that state I should like the function, I have listened to those that do not and have elected to not use the W7 explorer altogether.
So for now I will use this on the W7 box:
FreeCommander – http://www.freecommander.com/
Because it thinks the way I do – or at least a bit closer, at least now I am in control of my situation instead of being told how I should think.
It seems to me there is another word for an entity that has determined that I can no longer think for myself.
