    Two suggestions:
    1. Update your system specs. Download and use Speccy to get all your system spec info.

    2. Go to the website of your motherboard manufacturer and update the bios.

How are you installing Windows 7? Is it from a disc or a flash drive? If it is a disc, is it a copy, or real Microsoft media?

Is the disc real, or a copy? Did you use this same disc to install on other systems? If so, was that using the same DVD drive?

If Vista is failing on the same system as well, you likely have a hardware issue, or a BIOS issue. Try resetting the BIOS to the defaults or updating it if an update exists.

The BIOS update? It is safe, as long as you follow the instructions.
