I've bought a new system with AMD athlon ll x635 2.9ghz , motherboard TA890gxe ram 2gb kingston . I've installed Windows 7 x64 and i've also installed all the drivers provided by the biostar TA890gxe motherboard CD.
The TA890gxe has realtek alc 892 codec in . As i said i've installed the drivers from the motherboard cd. The problem is sound is not satisfiable . I primarily use headphone to listen to music and others. I dont feel the bass in my headphones and the volume seems to be normalized. My headphones were good absolutely good but i get less volume and less voice...
PLease help do have to go back win xp or install latest codec or do something else. please do provide some insight into this
Thanks In Advance

I would first look for updated sound drivers and try them. If the drivers were specifically for XP that can be a problem due to Vista/Win 7 handling some audio functions differently. Look for a Win 7 or at a minimum Vista sound drivers.

First, have you made adjustments with the built-in equalizer?
If you right click on the MS speaker icon in the task bar you can select "playback devices" then select the default output device (green check mark) and select the "Properties" button, go to the enhancements, select "Immediate Mode" if you have it.
Look at the enhancements do you have one called "Loudenss Equalization", is it active? if so, uncheck it. That will stop some of the normalization you hear. Do you have an EQ, adjust it to your preference... also selct NONE for any of the Playback Environments.
If you're using WMP don't forget it also has enhancements... turn them all off.
