Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Recently, I can't connect to the internet. when I tried to troubleshoot the problem, it gave me the following line :
"Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration"
I have two PCs and when I connect the mothem/router to the second PC, everything is okay and internet is on (So I am sure the problem is not from the modem/router and it is from windows)

I searched many forums and websites and tried many solutions but none of them helped me.

these are the solutions that I tried :

-
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

-
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset reset.log

- repairing windows

- uninstalling any security softwares like firewall and antivirus

- disabling/enabling or uninstalling/installing the network hardware from device manager

- using another network card and another network cable

- uninstall the Bonjour sevice

If you havn't done so yet you should reset the router and go through the routers set up page making sure that all settings are correct. As it stands you aren't getting a thing from the router. Try a different eithernet cable also please.

Routers can behave like this and do so on a regular basis, they can give out an IP to one machine and not the next for unknown reasons, happens all the time.

This also needs to be done just to eliminate the possibility that it's not a simple router problem which is the most likely cause.

I don't think that it is from the router because it works with any other pc that I connected it to... (and also before I changed my firewall software). I already have a win XP on that pc and the router also worked there pefectly.so I know that it is from the windows (after changing the firewall something went wrong and even after uninstalling the firewall it didn't went to normall)

and about the ethernet cable, I already said that I changed it

btw I installed a clean windows (7) and everything went to normal
I really wanted to solve the problem but...

No gateway. Are you hard coding ip or obtaining automatically for ip, dns, and alternate ip?

I think I might have tried a system restore or a start up repair but Windows 7 installs so fast it's a no brainer. Glad you got it working again raya2.

You're running both NIC's to the same router?
Can you confirm that you're not plugging one of them into the WAN port of the router?

Edit: NVM. Im far too slow.

Yes - I set it to obtaining automatically for everything - btw I also tried to put manually some ip addresses to that fields but nothing worked

yeah you are right - I forgot about system restore (but I deleted that windows 1 hour ago)
but I don't think that start-up repair could help me (like repairing windows, did not)

Thought so.
What you could try also, if you havnt already, is bridge the NICs.
This will effectively create and use one network adapter but using two physicals.
The effect of this should be lower latency and higher network speed, as the load is now balanced out between the two.
Im not sure exactly how the duplexing works, but I understand that doing so will allow both for full uplink and full downlink. Or one for full up, and the other for full down.
