Build 7127 or 7100?

That is may be due to upgrade but that may be only in your case... check ur starp up programs and if you can then please make a clean install

...so 7127 marginally slows down start-up and shutdown. Must be due to additional items Win7 is processing. In any event, I will stick with 7100 unless Microsoft offers an official update. I know... they said the would not, but then again, this would all depend on the feedback they are receiving from the alpha, beta and RC testers who are reporting back. After all, they did produce a 7127 so they must be up to something.

all my startup programs are the same in 7127 as they were in the RC. The difference in speed isn't huge and I definitely prefer it to vista. i just thought it weird that the later build saw a slight performance decrease in my setup

IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT BETA EXPIRATION DATE

Thanks again for your help in testing the Windows 7 Beta.

We’re sending this mail to remind you that Windows 7 Release candidate is available and to make sure you plan ahead for when the Beta expires on August 1, 2009. On July 1, 2009, the PC you’re using to test the Beta will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will send you a notice a couple of weeks in advance, and that’d be the ideal time to rebuild your test PC with a non-expired version of Windows, such as the RC or Windows Vista. This will be a clean installation, so be ready to reinstall your programs and data. (Learn more about installing Windows.)

So, if you haven’t already done so, we highly recommend that you download and install the RC from one of the following sites today:

IMPORTANT: If you are running Windows 7 Beta you’ll need to back up your data (preferably on an external device) and then do a clean install of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. There’s another expiration date you need to keep in mind: Windows 7 RC will expire on July 1, 2010, and you’ll need to either upgrade to the final release of Windows 7 or a prior version of Windows before then. (We‘ll send you another reminder as this date approaches.)

I prefer 7127 to 7100, seems to work a bit quicker which is always good so yeah ima stick to it

Exactly how much quicker is it, can you put a figure on it, is it milli-seconds, and is it consistant in everthing you do,

uhmm, id say its highly consistent, and my boot time has decreased by 30 seconds..
things load more of a click..... done compared to 7100 where it was a click................. done.

it's not the matter of speed in my case between 7100 or 7127 but some of my previous drivers started working in 7127... and I always prefer to go with the latest if available...

i'm in two minds. after upgrading to 7127 i'm not happy. i put off even getting this build coz the RC was running fantastically. now due to the problems i'm having, i have to reinstall but i think i'll go back to 7100 and leave 7127 well alone

i performed a nice fresh install of 7100 and all my problems are solved. i'm gonna stick with it til the RTM.
