Windows 7 does not recognize the Monitor
Hello. I have an Insignia 32' LCD Monitor/TV. I connected it to my laptop via VGA. the problem is that Windows either doesnt find it or doesnt connect to it. The first monitor is "Generic PnP Monitor on SiS M760GX and the second monitor is "(Default Monitor) on SiS M760GX" What is the problem. Before it said Non Generic PnP until I downloaded the drivers for the graphics card. Why isnt my monitor being recognized? Idk what it is because before I downloaded the SiS Drivers it would switch the display to the monitor. The only problem was that it didnt mirror the display and didnt give me the option of extending or mirroring or even bringing back the display to the laptop.

the graphics is onboard. I cant go to the VGA input unless the data is being sent to the monitor which it is not. I have an Acer Aspire 3000 with an SiS M760GX graphics card which I installed drivers to so that is working fine.

Since it is detected as a generic monitor, you will need drivers. May not find them since this is actually a TV, but try entering you model info here and see what you find...

The driver you installed was for the graphics card, right? After that it wasnt properly identified... right???

Yes the driver was for the graphics card and now it's as if the monitor doesn't exist. I go to the screen resolution and the 2nd display option is (Default Monitor) on Sis M760GX.
