Comp will not re boot after ccleaner registry clean

Hi everyone,
I have a dell inspiron mini 1110. I run c cleaner registry cleaner last night, which i have done b4 with no problems. Shut down computer and tried to start up.
will not start. it runs through the automatic repair process but it says unable to fix.
Tried system restore back as far as I can go but still not working. I've got the option to take it back to factory settings but reluctant to do that as I have work documents on the comp. Please help.

As a user of Ccleaner, I am very surprised. It is know for its benign cleaning operation
I present this as a last step. If you cannot boot and finally give up, you can back up your documents with this.

thanks for speedy reply. the only problem ive got is my net book dosent have an optical drive. the start up repair tool is unable to fix the problem either

It's unfortunate that this has happened to you. I always offer ccleaner as a last resort when I'm willing to accept that formatting and starting over is the only way. My experience with ccleaner is usually about 50/50. Sometimes it works, other times it finishes off the machine. But in all fairness, the machine was in bad shape before I tried this utility.

is there any way i can retrieve my docs b4 i do factory restore?

Sure.. download Ubuntu and burn the ISO as an image file.. boot from the cd, run as a live CD ... open your documents folder and copy what you need to save.. Be sure to use a flash drive, or an external drive..

Hi Tews, Great advice to say the least. Been playing with Ubuntu for sometime now! Just another reason to stay with it. added a rep for that post.
