I`ve got Win 7 Proffesional x64 on my mashine and the copy is legal and activated. But, after I installed SP1 in the lower right corner I got a Watermark that it`s Evaluation Copy of Win 7 7601. But system is still activated, so I wonder what it`s about??? Evaluation of SP1 or WHAt ?? Why I`ve got this message? Is that common? Anyone ??

Hi, Coccobill! Welcome to the Seven Forums! :)

Totally normal.

ScreenShot00174.jpg

It'll go away once the release (RTM) SP comes out and you've uninstalled the Beta (or Release Candidate) and installed the release (RTM) SP.

There are ways to remove the watermark but I certainly do not recommend doing so.
It's easy to live with. :)

Hi all:
Regarding the SP1 RC;
I have it installed. I don't know what I expected, really, but see no benefit at all.
I'm wondering, has anyone uninstalled it? Any problems doing so?
Is it basically a 'bloat' right now as it is?

TIA

Yeah, you've installed an "evaluation copy" of Build 7601. The SP1 currently is in an RC (Release Candidate - unfinished) state after all. Normal.

There really are no benefits for Win 7 - you'll get most, if not all, of the updates included in the Service Pack during the course of normal update procedures.. Most of the changes are applicable to Server 2008 R2 as indicated in Airbot's above posted link.

I uninstalled the Beta SP1 with no issues but, being the "daredevil" I am, once the RC SP1 came out I installed it and don't plan on uninstalling until the RTM SP1 is released. :D

Thanks, Airbot. My apologies. :o

I should have said "few" benefits for Win7 and not "no" benefits. Lo siento. Mea culpa.
