I have 2 USB's, a firewire & mix & line in & out ports on the front of my computer case. (Origen Case)

I've had it setup before & know it needs to be setup as Legacy Audio 97. But I had to unplug it to remove my processor & I forgot that they were all separate plugs & I dont remember what goes where.

Black - L Out
Green - Ret L
Red - Mic in
Yellow - Mic pwer
Orange - R out
White - Ground
Tan - Ret L

I can see where to put a couple like Mic pwer & ground, but a lot of the labels on the audio 97 config are labeled NC?

So what goes where?

Thanks.

Does this diagram help. The connector in my diagram is upside down compared to yours but as you can see some pins are not used.

A little bit, but it still leaves a couple that I'm unsure of.

Btw, all of the 7 plugs are all mini individual plugs, they arent together as one.

Ok how can I tell if they are hooked up right, I dont have a mic?

What should be coming from the Line Out ports?

Can I hook a pair of headphones in them & hear music to test?

It seems the USB ports already work even with out these addition 7 wires hooked up.

I dont have a firewire to test the 1394.

But I guess from reviewing your suggestions with the config the mobo manual says, you are probably right since the only ones that the mobo manual doesnt show are the FPOut R & L and placing them next to their R & L counterparts makes sense to me.

I'll shut down the computer here in a couple minutes & try that wire config.

Thanks.

When I plugged a pair of headphones into my front port a popup appeared asking me if what I had plugged in was headphones, I confirmed and then it let me do a sound test which worked fine.

Ok they are all plugged in the correct spots. I tried to plug some headphones from my ihpone in both line outs & didnt hear anything.

I may never end up using the ports, but its still nice to have them hooked up since they're there.

I also need to hook up my firewire cable, but as is its not long enough to reach where it needs to go, probably needs another foot at least - I can buy an extension cable right?

Just search for firewire extension cable?

I think so? I never really tested them to be honest. I'm sure they're hooked up properly, seems to match the mobo schematics
