Manufacturer refurbished laptop?

Hello everyone, I found an HP laptop on Ebay that has exactly the specs I want even more, BUT it's manufacturer refurbished, is that a bad thing?? did anyone buy a laptop that was refurbished before?

Here are the main specs that it has:

-Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-820QM Quad Core Processor 1.73GHz/8MB L3 Cache/1333MHz FSB with Turbo Boost up to 3.06GHz

-8GB DDR3 System Memory (4 Dimm)

-500GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

-1GB ATI Mobility Radeon (TM) HD 4830 Graphics - For i7 Processors

-and most importantly it has a 15in 1920x1080p screen, finally I found a 15in laptop with a FULL HD screen.

anyways what you guys think?? worth the money?? safe to buy from Ebay?? also the seller has a %100 postive feedback.

I have a refurbished desktop( see my system specs) that I purchased from Cosco over 3 years ago.
Just recently I got a bargain on a refurbished laptop i5, 6GB DDR3, 2 separate HD's 250 each with a 17.3 screen by HP from Sam's Club. for $350. No they don't have any left.

Caution:IMHO I would not buy refurbished on Ebay. I would only buy refurbished from local Box Store or reputable sites on the web.

I have had no trouble with either so far. The only thing I would replace is the operator!

Yeah Ebay is the only thing bothering me, I never bought anything from Ebay over $1000, the guy has %100 feedback, and I can pay with paypal, also I can return it if I didn't want it, but still I need to be convinced more to get his laptop, the specs are amazing for the price, what you guys think?

I got an Hp refurb from TigerDirect 4 months, ago. It's fine.

This one on ebay seems over priced for a refurb.

I've purchased two refurbished laptops from TigerDirect and they both have been good but you are limited on the warranty so factoring in the extended warranty would be prudent !

you guys can check the specs if you want and compare it to the one on Ebay, I personally don't think the one on Ebay is expensive.

The price is steep. Compare to this $900 system from Office Depot. And I would never buy anything that costs more than 3 bucks from Ebay..

This Toshibe is $500 more expensive than this one and you get a lesser CPU - but a slightly bigger screen. And I would love the backlit keyboard on the $900 system.

The reason I want the Envy not just because of the good specs, but it also looks good, and btw I really don't want to get anything bigger than a 15in screen, the laptop I'm typing on right now is a 17in Gateway and this machine is big, I really want something smaller and lighter to carry around, but at the same time I want it to be a beast inside!

You have to watch out - if you cramp too many Watts into a small laptop, you may run into a heat problem. CPU, Graphics and the HDD can produce a lot of heat. I had this problem with a HP laptop. You could fry eggs on it. I solved it by replacing the HDD by a SSD (which really was my only option).

i aggree with you. But the OP was looking at a $1500 refurbished laptop and there the addl. $200 for the SSD should be OK - especially considering the gain in speed.

Are you sure it's only $200, I was trying to customize a laptop on Sony's website and I tried to add an SDD 500gb I believe and the price was $1300?
