Suddent BSODs - Reports provided

Hello,

I was hoping I could get some assistance. I would be eternally grateful.

I have recently built my first gaming system back in August and the specifications of the system are attached within a Speccy .txt dump along with my Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 and Minidump attachment.

I had never experienced such problems until last week where I would randomly BSOD, my BSODs were generally always with the file "ntoskrnl.exe" and I would have around two or three each day.

  • It got to the point where I couldn't boot into Windows no more, so I backed up my files via Teamviewer in safe mode onto an external source and reinstalled my operating system. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium N 64bit, this time.
  • It went fine, but as soon as I resumed from Windows Updates I BSOD, once again. I am facing a horrible and annoying issue, it's only when you experience BSODs you feel sympathy for others.
  • I have ran Driver Verifier however I BSOD and reboot within seconds so I can't even read the message and no dump is recorded due to that. I had to delete the settings within Verifier.
  • I was curious so I stripped my system down and built it up again, but this time, I swapped my sticks of RAM around, placing one into the other of where the previous slot was. Surprisingly, I was able to boot without receiving a BSOD, this was great, for a few hours until I began to BSOD more frequently.
  • I checked my RAM timings, they were fine, 9-9-9-24 I believe is the correct timings for my RAM (according to the sticks) - I do not believe my VRAM multiplier is correct however, I think it was around 633MHz or so, I'm pretty sure it should be 1333MHz or around that.
  • I find myself having to manually start the Windows Audio service despite it being automatically enabled in services.msc.

Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide me with, I look forward to joining discussions within the board.

Regards,
Uploaded :)

Did you have two wireless adapter? Intel 5100 and 5300?

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT

This problem occurs if one or more of the processors in the computer:
  • Require a microcode update that is not applied by the computer's basic input/output system (BIOS).
  • Are damaged or defective.
  • Are operating outside their specified ranges for temperature, power, or other conditions.

Stop 7F, 0x00000008 (double-fault) error occurs because of a single-bit error in the ESP register

I do not have any wireless adaptors, that is very odd. This operating system was installed less than 24 hours ago, I would say perhaps 12.

I just BSOD before I could refresh the thread to check for replies, this time cng.sys is the culprit.

That is very strange. MSINFO32 showed those two intel wireless devices. I'm sure they're not there...

Take a look at device manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks.

Also run memtest86+ for at least six passes. Memory could be source of trouble.

I can confirm there are no exclamation marks in the device manager. I would be shocked if my RAM has ran itself into defectiveness after such a short period of time.

I will now run memtest86+ from my USB stick and report back when complete.

I encountered another BSOD and another two in the process of attempting to upload the dumps, running in safe mode now.

Please see attachment.

What I don't understand is how everything is fine for several months, I haven't touched my hardware since, and suddenly one day I get these dreadful things on a regular occurrence. :(

Update: BSOD when this post was made, no minidump was created.

Update 2: BSODing like mad down. See attachment "Minidump 2"

Could this be BIOS settings perhaps? They have been unchanged but perhaps they are not configured correctly. This is a sad, sad month :(

If you had those errors, the problem lies with your memory. Either the timings are off, or the memory is bad. If you have more than one stick of memory, just run on one stick. If no BSODs, then replace with another stick. Try to find bad memory stick.

Also, you never completed your System Specs.

Is your memory appropriate for your mobo? What are the specs on memory and what is the make/model of your mobo?

I know which stick it is then, after a few months it starts acting up? Damn.

My system specs can be seen in the "Hydrogen.txt" file however I have now filled them in for you under "My System Specs".

Another BSOD for your viewing pleasure :D

Update: Stick of RAM removed. How will I go about reporting back if something occurs/doesn't occur? I will see how it is then file a warranty claim with my e-tailer.

Are there any software issues I am facing? Why does the Windows Audio Service not start up on boot, I need to manually start it.

Thank you very much, I will do so with eternal appreciation from yourself.

Did it appear as if any drivers were outdated from my logs? Hopefully I can learn how to read them well and assist others.

At this point continue with the good memory. Continue getting MS updates when available. I didn't get an accurate read on your drivers (remember MSINFO32 was showing two Intel wireless adapters).

I'd like you to check your video, audio and network devices to make sure you have the latest ones installed. Nothing before 2010.

No BSODs since, great news guys!

However I am having two issues, small but irritating; once I boot into Windows, my audio service is not running, it is set to automatic and it needed to be manually started (I have tried reinstalling my audio drivers) - I am also having issues with my network, my connection is "identifying" until I launch an application such as Spotify.

I hope this image can assist you in some way along with an ipconfig /all dump.
