So Hotmail won't import/export through Thunderbird - MSN down as well

Unable to connect to POP3/SMTP servers - redirect to MSN shows MSN down as well

I can log into Hotmail on the net just fine though and it appears it is receiving my test emails - no Changes made to server info in Thunderbird

Anyone using Hotmail with Thunderbird or, MS Live Mail, or 3rd part email apps having problems as well?

Are you sure you have the account set up properly? Hotmail uses a strange protocol (http) instead of pop3, although some of us old timers were given pop3 access for our email programs.
