I read Paul Thurrot's column earlier today, he said the same although he mentions it several times that he has not been able to confirm it. Interesting to see what Ballmer says tonight.

Anyway, I believe after CES we know quite a bit more.

Posted this in the VIP forum already, but I thought I would add it here too. They showed off an early version of Win8 today...build number 6.2.7867. No new UI changes yet, just as early versions of W7 looked just like Vista. Can't wait for the leaks to start. ;)

I watched Ballmer's Keynote speech and MS showed Windows "next version" running on a group of SOC and ARM PC's. They stated the OS was the "next" version but the GUI was Windows 7 so nothing to see. Their main point was that the "next" Windows will be able to run on all types of hardware.
