Solved Reliability monitor wont reset

I have followed the tutorial on this site to reset the reliability history - trash RAC files etc. The graph clears ok but a few hours later back comes all the old problem. I am thinking there must be another file hidden away that is being accessed for the data. I would not be bothered normally but I check components on this test bed machine and it would be easier to see whats happening with a clean graph when I switch bits around.

Have you cleared the problem reports, http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/4567-problem-reports-solutions-clear-history.html

Or erased them from the event viewer?

That was what I had to do to keep them from showing back up in a few hours.

thanks for your interest - yes I picked up on both of those - again from this forum - I have got a feeling there maybe another file here - but if you have sorted it that might not be the case. I will give it another go and report back.

I'm not sure where you are using the tutorial here at on this. I had pulled the tutorial at Seven Forums for this a long time ago due to the same issue you are having. It was to much of a hit and miss with to many people, so I yanked it for now until a way to make it reliable is worked out. So far nothing.

My bad, I found it on a post by yusfa anugrah baihaki who was having similar issues. I just tried to clear it again - did all the event log and everything else but the old history bounced right back. Might be one of those 'unsolvables'. Very impressed with speed of response and the welcome here for a newbie - thanks all.

Yeah, so far no luck with it in Windows 7. It works great in Vista though.

Hello Rich,

It's really just one of those just because type deals, but I suppose that it could be handy if someone had fixed all of the errors and didn't want to see them anymore, Reliability Monitor is not working properly, or someone just wanted to clear the reported data in Reliabilty Monitor.

Personally, I wouldn't want to reset it unless it just wasn't working properly in order to hopefully fix it.
